Viktoria Pilzen hosts Partizan

Viktoria Pilzen hosts Partizan in a second leg from the UEFA Europa League 1/16-finals. The first game in Belgrade ended with a 1-1 draw, which gives Viktoria Pilzen an advantage before the rematch.

Leandre Tawamba Kana opened the score for Partizan after the break, but Radim Reznik equalized with a late goal just nine minutes before the end. This goal could turn to be very important for the Czech team.

Now Partizan do not have any other option, but to look for goals in Pilzen. In same time they must be careful in defense, because any goal for Viktoria could be fatal for Partizan’s aspirations to reach the 1/8-finals.

In the Serbian Prva Liga Partizan are currently second, trailing on 7 points behind the big rival Red Star. Their record in the league so far shows 22 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses. It’s a pretty good record for any league, but in this case it means that Partizan are not really favourites for the title right now.

In their last five games Partizan won four times and lost points only during the dissapointing 1-1 draw with Buducnost.

Meanwhile Viktoria Pilzen are convincing leaders in the Czech Liga. They are first in the league standings with 47 points and they have 14 points advantage in front of Sigma Olomouc. They are in a pretty comfortable position to chase the title once again, clearly being the best team in the country right now.

In their last five games Viktoria Pilzen are unbeaten. They won three times and lost points only during the draws with Teplice and Sigma Olomouc.

Surely Viktoria Pilzen have the advantage here and they are favourites to reach the 1/8-finals. But in same time Partizan also have their chances of doing the same.
